Just brought a Li 12 volt kit and whilst its a 12v flywheel the keyway seems to be in the wrong place. By this I mean the keyway is just under the rivet as opposed to just over it as per Stickys manual. It seems as though its a points boss in a 12 volt flywheel... :? I havent put it in or tried to time it up but have been told that its unlikley i will be able to time it correctly.
Its a cheap Indian jobby. anyone else had this issue?

Thanks
Sef

If its an API flywheel those have been known to be assembled wrong. Are there any makers marks on it?

The way to know for sure is to set it up and see where it lines up. If you have to rotate the stator past it's normal positions then it's wrong.
