Went over a speed hump on the way into my new work location.. it was one of those higher plastic ones... felt it catch. had a check and have flattened the bottom off which would narrow the bend and restrict a fair bit... noticeable change in performance on the way home. anyone repaired something like this successfully.. like remove it and apply some heat and a hammer..
Thanks

Have heard of sealing both ends up very securley with rubber bungs and filling with water and left for 24 hrs in a deep freeze, seems to do the job, worth a try if you have a chest freezer!!

or with air and heat

when using the air and heat method you can use a hammer to beat the crease and the dent will pop out really quick ,the small dents can be worked this way too

Couldn't find anyone local to do the repair so I bought a sealing kit to have a go at this myself. if any ones interested it was relatively painless - kit was £29. blow torch from Toolstation for £32...
First pic is the dent, received from a rather large speed hump.. 3 month old pipe.. dent has a noticeable effect on performance.. looks a bit rusty too

Next is with the seals nice and tight.. ..instructions said put 40 PSI.. but this was ineffective .. so put 80

Get it glowing.. watch pressure gauge.. was a little worried it might go bang

Once red hot tap lightly with hammer around the dent and it pops out.. not factory but a vast improvement

wire brushed.. wire wool.. clean, paint and refit.. works like new again
