The odometer on my SX hasn't worked since I got it and I want to have a go at fixing it before the weather gets improves and I have better things to do in the evening....
Any advice? Any common issues that anyone has found that stop odometers working?
Cheers
John

Oh Yes! particularly with Indian remades. With the mechanism out of the casing, you will see a vertical drive that turns the tenths wheel. It's usually this failing to mesh at one end or even both ends. A bit of bending sometimes cures it!

Thanks Daggs, let's hope its that easy. I have visions of loads of little cogs running in different directions cos I was all thumbs!

So I stripped it down, the vertical drive seemed a bit loose but it looked to me like the horizontal one behind it that disappears off into the internals was the problem. So I had it apart and cleaned it all up. Reassembly was tricky as there seemed to be a lot of play between the drives but I think I've done it. Biggest problem was lining up the numbers, end one of the left is still out of sync. Any suggestions on that?
Now all I need to do is try it on the road and see if it works.

Bo***cks, doesn't work. The 1/10 mile counter is moving and the mile counter moved a little way yhn stopped. And now all the numbers are out of alignment. Start again........
