Varitronic, Using DC Option?

I'm looking to use the DC output on Varitronic to trickle charge a 5Ah battery to run gauges, LED rear/brake light & horn, basically everything but the headlamp. I'd also like to be able to switch on the DC feed with position 2 of the ignition switch. Can anyone provide advise, or even better a wiring diagram to achieve this?
Many thanks

As far as I know it can't be done,I even opened up a switch to see. Several of the terminals overlap meaning that DC and AC mix.I had to run a seperate switch to power the digi speedo. Was there some talk regarding the Scoot RS switch being able to run both?

It can be done but not through the switch. Youd have to wire the headlamp to always on from the AC feed (AC feed to orange from the high/low switch). From there you'd keep the rest of the wiring going through your ignition switch. Not a perfect solution but it would work if you don't mind having your headlight on all the time.

I always ride with lights on, so not a problem.
Just trying to get my head around this, I assume I run the battery +ve to ignition switch live at position 2 giving rear/brake, horn & gauges? This way I'd have AC headlamp on at 1 with the blank gauges being the memory trigger to switch to position 2, DC for the rear and brake lights?

why run the rear light on the battery? the ign sw. crosses over and is likely that you will as wack says have ac and dc together will be worth checking this out,if however you trickle charge the battery and run horn and brake light ,gauges etc then you can hide an isolator sw. in the toolbox.

Exploring any options for this Joe, thanks

TBH I'd prefer it if the Varitronic was full DC but that's not looking likely at the moment

What about an Li switch for the AC lights and the ignition switch for the DC

An Indian ignition switch was designed to do exactly what you require.
