What's your budget?
What do you want it to do?
Rev monster?
Torquey?
What other bits are you prepared to buy at the same time?
What bits have you already got?
Do you want to run tall gearing, or short?
What have you read so far, regarding small block kits?
How many people's advice do you want to take?
Are you anal about sh it like which side the carb sticks out?

A mildly ported italian GP150 barrel will do that. In fact, a standard italian GP150 barrel will do that.

If you've got to spend 600 quid though, a GT kit and a proper exhaust would be my suggestion.

Agreed, great kit with great back up from the designer and creator ;)

If you are a bit inexperienced with these things i'd say cast iron would be best. Mugellos etc can be a very expensive learning process! As posted above, a decent 150 with 28mm,scootrs pipe should give you what you want.

I'd go with the GT kit or wait for the MB BGM 195 Racetour kit. I think that's close to being available.

I'm sure that Replay would do a very good job on setting up a Mugello for you and they would check all the port timings rather than assuming they are correct. As has been said, I'd be prepared for them making, how shall we say, alternative exhaust suggestions. I'm not sure why you chose to buy a Sterling exhaust but they are a poor man's copy of a PM. The PM gives you power, IMO, quite high up the rev range but don't necessarily give you a scoot that's a joy to ride in town, and on the open road. That was my experience of running one on a Mugello 186.

With hindsight, I'm not too convinced that the Mugello is the "bolt on and play" kit that was claimed. Mine was the v3 which was the first dowelled head one.

As has been said, the GT186 is a very, very good alternative. Do Gransport have a demo model you could try? I'm only 200 miles into running mine in. But, I can tell already that this kit has a wide and very useable spread of power on a Clubman exhaust. I'm just waiting for one of the new "Super" Clubmans to come out before I put mine on the dyno (to set the carb, not to brag about the power :D ) but I'd be disappointed if wasn't producing about 12 or 13bhp, maybe more.

So far, the GT186 has made me smile for every one of the 200 miles I have done. The Mugello with a PM had a kick like a mule when it went into the powerband, but it wasn't much fun when you were slipping the clutch to get it going.

Don't rush into making a decision you may regret ;)

The exhaust makes a tremendous difference to how a kit performs, which means in turn you have to choose your gearbox ratios to match. The above suggestions of Mugello, GT and RT are all valid, but as also mentioned above I've found a standard SX250/GP150 will happily cruise at 50 with a Clubman and 22mm Jetex ;)
