Cluster Thrust Washer

Do these come in different thicknesses? The bottom of the Christmas tree is fouling the inside of the case with one washer but if i add another the layshaft binds when the end plates tightned...? Seems as though I need a washer thats somewhere between the two.

Yes they do. But you might not need one.....as you'll probably find that the Xmas tree wont foul once the Spider is in place and tightened as it lifts the Xmas tree a fraction.

that what the thrust washers ther for just t stop the xmas tree foulin?

I brought the engine and scoot at the same time. It looks as though it had been built from scratch with odd bits but never run. I have stripped it down when i noticed circular grooves in the casing under the christmas tree and presumed there wasnt a thrust washer but there was... This i think has been done via kicking it over when i first got it to see if there was a spark...there wasnt
Anyway, i replaced the thrust washer with a new one but still fouled the case. Put 2 in and doesnt foul case but layshaft wont turn when end plate is wound in. I havent tried it with the clutch spider yet but will give it a go.

In the meantime can anyone point me in the direction of someone that sells the differnt size washers?

Have never seen different thickness shims for under the tree. As said above, when you thighten the spider, the tree will clear the case. If it doesn't, then there really is a problem
