Hello there

I gather this has been quite a topic but can anybody recommend,share their experiences of standard looking stainless steel long range 11-13 ltr tanks . I understand they need to be thoroughly cleaned and if possible sealed with 100% ethanol resistant compound also are there any issues with petrol tap fitment ( using rear exit camlam fast flow anyway ) ie may stock the best ones ? any thoughts would or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I've had two from beedspeed both never sat central with filler tap and I can see in other post someone else has also had issues . I never sealed mine just washed it through and been fine I've got a standard size stainless tank with cam lam rear exit tap fitted fine

I think they're all pretty likely to have some issues because as far as I know, all the standard looking long range tanks are Vietnam / far east jobs. I don't know of anyone uk / euro doing these at all

Yep they are far east but they are cheap for what they are. I run one.
Clean thoroughly before fitting. I would advise useing a product designed for cleaning tanks. I use one called marine clean then flush thoroughly with water and leave to dry out.
I've never had leaking issues so wouldn't worry about sealing as this can cause problems on its own.
They are a pain in the ass to fit and you may have to play with tank rubbers to get it sit properly.
If you want better fitment quality go for uk made tank but it will cost more.

p.s. i would clean any new tank thoroughly before fitting where ever it came from.

I looked specialist tank cleaning products. They all seemed bloody expensive at £25 or so (plus postage)

"Water based, concentrated Alkaline cleaner"......


...... What, you mean like oven cleaner that costs £3 for a pint or so
