i have an indian ally 185cc kit and the piston that came with the kit seems rather heavy compered to the piston i had in a genuine sr 185 kit. what are my options as sr are out of sr pistons at 64mm, i dont fancy topping and tailing the cylinder to suit a suzi piston either as the cylinder has been nicely tuned . crank is a standard 58/107 . cheers simon

You could re-rod the crank to TV length and use a Mitaka piston.
Grampian in Liverpool or Harry Barlow could do both for you.

Also I think I've got a couple of 64mm Deanspeed pistons that I got from WCLC about 3 years ago. Well I have got them, it's finding them that's the problem. £50 inc P&P.

Bargain!
If Mr. Corrado cannot find them in his treasure trove, then there is always the Mugello piston: but expect to pay way more.

I believe Corrado's 1st suggestion would utilise the Mitaka Suzuki TS185ER piston.
You could also speak to MB about one of their forged Race Tour pistons which would probably avoid the need to change the rod.
They used to have them in 64mm although I think the new batch may start at 65mm and will probably cost a little more than £50.
If you were looking at fitting a reed too then I think the GT kits use a Yamaha 350 YPVS piston which could be an option.

You still need to top and tail barrel with RD350 piston. About 3mm, or use a 110 Rod. I topped and tailed an SR barrel, used a homemade reedvalve manifold and get @18bhp. This is with some nice porting by Pro Design in Littlehampton.

I found a NOS Deanspeed piston if anyone is interested.
Got a new one at £50 all in and a NOS one at £60 all in.

Sorry, there's only one and it's £50. How long do I have to own it for before I can class it as NOS?

Another 2 minutes?
