Hi all, have just stripped my crank to do the bearings and found this........

Is it important...... And does it need to be fixed?

It's a small piece of the case where the crank webs sit.

Im sure I have read on here some were about removing these bits of casing to detrimentle effect

I've been running a scoot for about 3 1/5 years, done just short of 9k miles (wish it was more ), with the following mods to my casing (its something was shown by Dan on here many moons ago) scoot runs Ok, I'd just tidy the damage up and refit cylinder

what mike said, a picture paints a thousand words. a what happend with the varitronic issue ?

Still working on the same issue.... Bearings r shot on both sides of the casing and causing movement. I/We think that is causing the misfiring on the ignition.

I don't mean to nit pick but it looks like in this photo the drive side seal is in backwards.

Cheers fellas, I'm gonna clean the casing up and put it back together.

No its not (i've been through this already)...Its just the angle of the pic
