Looking for a budget 12 volt set up for a series 2 Li. I know the words " budget 12 volt" are an oxymoron when refering to Lambrettas but i weighed out on decent italian set ups in the past that have packed up and have mate whose had lots of BGMs fail so im loathe to weigh out £180 for whats only going on a 2nd scoot. The Indian stators im currently using have been fine so far so im happy to go in that direction. I need the flywheel as well as coil etc. Have seen whole kits for £50 on ebay but even I wont go there.

Oh any does anyone know if you can still buy the GP boss that allows you to run GP crank as i will want to go this way at a later date...

Anyone have any suggestions?

No gain without pain. I'm not sure you get what you pay for in this lark. Best isn't always better. Splash out on a SR kit. Reasonable and I've always found them reliable. They do the boss as well.
