ELEC-TRICKERY !!

Hi!
Been building me an auto engined (piaggio 2stroke) cutdown for a little while, but have literally no room at all to hide the battery!
having no previous experience with autos or indeed scooters with a battery, is it possible to just do away with it
and run everything off the ignition like you would normally?
i know i'd need an AC horn, and i believe the only other DC thing in the piaggio loom is the rear light and clocks (the clocks i won't be using)
i can live with no electric start and a headlight that dims on tickover - but can the piaggio stator live with it?
hope some one can help
tony

Im not familiar with the engine, but I am used to hiding batteries, try the motobatt range, probably get a smaller unit with same CCA etc.
what about in a leather toolrool on side of frame etc, dont know what yours looks like but theres always a way

forgive my ignorance, as i am obviously not knowledgable in this sort of thing, but this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/capacitor-for ... 3f1c63d724
looks very similar to the one previously linked - but says on the listing that it cannot be used for electronic ignition (points only)
Is that just another sort of capacitor ?
sorry if this seems simple

You could always use 2 or more smaller batteries, hide them where necessary and connect them in parallel. That way you can keep the DC horn (no silly duck fart) and the electric starter providing you can match the capacity. Nip into Maplins with a tape measure and see whats available but then do a google search for MUCH cheaper offerings. The battereies are used in house alarms and the like.

Might be worth checking; however there are capacitors available that will work, I have some at home, but I'm working away until the w/e before I can confirm details
