which cables do people think are better? Nylon lined or Teflon lined??
Neither! The best cables I've ever used are the original ones on my 1965 Silver Special. They're still there (inners and outers) some 47 years after they were fitted in the factory and are very smooth in operation.
The inners seem to be one piece cables (i.e. not strands wound together as per new ones) and appear not to stretch in operation.
Apart from those, I'd go for Nylon lined meself
