Happy New Year to everyone here, now, I have a Yamaha R6 shock which is a bit worse for wear ( just needs a good bit of tlc), can anyone let Me know how to split it without it taking my head off or at least parting my hair in a very unflattering style! Oh and how to put it back together again would be good!

Cheers, and thanks in advance
Jaffa

You might be better off getting Chiggy or Shocky to do it for you in case you get it wrong and the boss impales itself in your forehead , ive removed car ones with spring compressors and still have a set but its a sweaty palms and crash helmet job :D

Angle grinder for the old spring. A vice and zip ties to get the new one on. A 180lb spring you don't even need zip ties - a bit of string.
