BGM regulator tip

One of my new Christmas pressies was a new BGM regulator/rectifier and I thought the connector looked a bit familiar.
Although they supply individual wires and spade connectors with the regulator, I thought it would be a bit neater if I used a "proper" plug.
I was able to source one easily from my local electronics store and now have a neater installation!
The additional advantage is that if you have to disconnect at any stage, when you plug back in there is no chance of getting the wires on the wrong connectors.

That's great until you need to pull off the stator plate and need to unpick the plug!

Ooops :oops:. Good point!

Hope I don't need to take it off too soon. :lol:

But you can get an extracter tool to take the terminals out of the plug (and a thin paperclip usually works :lol: )

A question did arise as I was connecting it up. If the AC input and output have to be connected for it to work (as the instructions insist), why wasn't this done internally in production of the unit? That would seem to make much more sense than supplying a special little wire to bridge it externally. :roll:

Because it was designed for a stator with an extra output, such as fitted to GY6 engines and other modern scoots.
