The end of the Lambretta crank as we know it ???

I think i've seen something similar to this somewhere else before.....but i can't quite remember where.

Then i saw these pics, some bloke thats into scooters and makes a few bits now and then, has manufactured a small batch to go on sale with his other stuff......buts its under the counter and you have to ask for it and say the password first.

Now i'm not sure if these cranks will catch on or not..........they look as if half of them are missing!

lower compression means higher revs but lower power at low revs....

i love engines with a lot of torque, so these cranks are not the first choice for me...

Feck me since that Charlie Edmunds article everybodies gone low compression bonkers......but is this the right way to do it. I don't think so.

2 stroke theory isn't my strong point,but I'll have a guess at part of the answer and say that reduced rotating mass produces an under square engine in terms of balance,so at low engine speed it'll a rough ride but flat-out nice and smooth,kinda like a nascar on an oval track.
