Yes mate, I run a 70mm mugello piston in a rapido barrel. 3 1/2 thou clearance. No problem at all but I got a properly profiled head from Chalky at Replay. The muggy one I had was like a fruit bowl!

Are you talking about one of the new muggy (super monza) pistons (the head that comes with them is centre squish) or the older muggy piston (the one with the fruit bowl head! lol: )
Either way it should be ok as long as its a piston for a 107mm rod and the bore clearance is fine.
If the head is the one with the large combustion chamber i would be tempted to get a different one as this will effect performance quite dramatically. The old Muggy 225 piston probably has the same profile as rapido and many other lammy kits/heads.

Hi
Yes thats the newer piston and head. The piston is superb quality in my opinion and is the same as the piston run in super monza engines (just without reed holes).
This would be a considerable upgrade using this head and piston. You need to check or have checked the bore clearance, the compression ratio (which you should do when fitting any head or new kit) and squish and of course make sure its a piston for use with a 107mm conrod and not 116mm.
