cylinder head cowling...

Ive just been taking a few bits of my GP ie my shinny engine bits for a good clean....I have a problem with removing the cylinder head cowling..there doesnt seem to be enough clearence between the cowling and the frame to remove the cowling.. i was just wondering if there is a trick to getting it out? ....when you stop laughing would be great of the info :)
