Hi All,
Just finishing the rebuild of my 1984 PX/EFL and i've got a couple of problems:
After fitting the tank and connecting the petrol pipe I started the scooter up and all started first time no problem(Excellent stuff). However, I noticed that the petrol tap is not working properly and I cannot turn off the petrol supply to the engine. I am assuming there is a problem with the plastic disc (thingy) inside the tap bowl, but before I take out the tank and strip can a grown up confirm the problem and advise on a suitable resolution.
This, apart from the ignition (see separate post) are the only two things outstanding on the full rebuild, so any help would be much appreciated.\Thanks in advance,
Chris
Vespa PX petrol tap (will not turn off)
Before you go too mad, if it is a remade lever I have seen these come unglued on the end.
The plastic bit you grip is turning, but not the actual rod which is connected to the tap.
Worth checking that first

Hi Lambro,
ust been outside to look at the tap and I have fitted the tap the wrong way round (dohhh) off is reserve and visa versa so pretty easy fix.
Thanks for all the assistance, the scooter is now complete so now just MOT and enjoy.
