I've picked up a tool box door shaped to take an in line spare, about half way down on the outside surface there are some small 'handles' - one either side.

Does anyone know

1. Are they meant to be there - they look as if they're original.
2. what is their purpose?

I'm thinking of removing them before painting but if the are meant to be there I'll leave them in.

Any help mauch appreciated.

Rich

looks like some kinda strap goes thru to help hold it firm to the door ?

Looks as if a leather strap belt goes through the loops and round the rim too secure in place "cafe racer look " :)

What style / make of carrier are you using for this door?

Don't know, accessories are not my thing really, I had used on a bike before but it didn't sit right hence buying the door with the recess for the wheel.

Looks very similar to this if not the same, came of an imported dl 125.

Should there be something to look out for??
