inverters ??

Hey all, Has anyone got any experience in using inverters/converters etc ? ive got a 800w genny and i want to run my 1.8kw compressor from it , as it stands it wont ! ive heard of a inverter or converter that links the two so the genny will power the compressor !! but unsure what to get or if theres any tips other folk have done , any help would be appreciated !!

If your genny is rated at 800 watts it won't ever be able to power a compressor that needs double the power. Inverters are used to turn DC current into AC current. You will need a bigger genny.
