I was told that the handlebar body is located with one nut (not two as shown in this months scootering) and with a washer between the handlebar and the nut.
I couldn't find any T5 specific washer for this so far, could I use just any fitting one, are there any good springwashers available in this size or is it just better practice to use two nuts?
And finally, is the thread on the steeringcolumn itself the same as PX, PK, Cosa? Are they all 1.5?
Cheers, Chris

Having repaired a few T5's I seem to remember they had a washer as shown here http://www.vespaspares.co.uk/spares/par ... A%3A&uid=0 under the lock ring as well as a thin tin washer that was then bent over to lock the ring. This locktab is not available anymore so I usually tighten the ring very tight with the correct tool and loctite, although I have also used 2 thinner lock rings (same as Lambretta and other Vespas) when the correct one has been damaged in the past.I haven't had a headset come loose yet so it must work although I would also check the locating washer under the headset frame and the groove in the forks are in good condition as any wear here will still allow the headset to move about.

Thanks for the link!
I'll get hold of that washer than.
As the groove in my steering column is worn out I leave the old (also worn out) locating ring in and fit the new (SIP one) on top, gripping the undamaged groove.
Cheers, Chris
