smallframe exhausts

replaced a 125 top end with a 100 on a smallframe engine
the 125 had the head bolting onto the cylinder studs, the smaller top end has the cylinder bolted to the casing, then seperate studs for the head.
now when i come to fit the [standard primavera type] silencer it is not lining up with the header flange at all... Is this due to the barrel swap ? Are there differences in header pipes between the two types of top end fixings...?
Apart from buying another whole exhaust system, the simplest way seems to be to move the front mounting of the silencer...
or is there a neater solution ?
