I've had my mates TS1 motor in my GP for 6 months and me and my son have thrashed the f@@k out of it, so I said I would replace the disposables - plates, rings and the drive side seal has also blown so, seals too.

Looking on the Readspeed website they only sell a kit of plates and steels for their 6 plate clutch (as fitted), I only want plates so am looking a bit of advice if I can buy the plates seperately - kit is £65!! They are surflex plates but I'm not sure what thickness etc is required or where else to go to.

All help most appreciated.

Cheers

Yes im almost certain they sell the plates individually, from memory £5 each.
When i was young my Mom said "if you haven't got anything nice to say, say nothing at all " ..................... and people wonder why I'm quiet around them !

How do you know the plates are f**ked?

I've had a Readspeed 6 plate clutch in my engine now for over 6 years and it's still Ok and performs perfectly even with all the abuse I can give it.

I've used it in 2 TS1 engines including the current one that has been built for over 3 years and 3 RB engines

If I can't f**k it up it must be good
I do not try to explain why I ride Lambrettas,

It's f@@ked mate, black corks with bits missing - like I said I used it for a few rallies but let my son stick his plate on it to use about the town and he takes no prisoners, his other bike is a 136 smallframe, there's no half throttle with him, it's full torque everywhere, don't know where he gets it from :bouncing:

Forgot to mention drive side seal went on the way down to 4 nations so there was about 3ml of gear oil in it, probably didn't help the plates...
