You just need to route the power feed for the brake light via the switch. That way, when you pull the lever, the switch closes and on comes the light. Its a little more complicated if you want to use the rear brake light switch as well but not much. Draw it out on paper to get your head round the circuit and it soon becomes obvious what's needed.

You can't just connect a DC feed to the front brake switch because the rear switch is getting AC via the MB loom. When both brakes are used at the same time you will probably blow a fuse or damage the stator.

I take it this is for a DC conversion? If so, just follow Byron's diagram, the feed form the regulator will. Be DC already. If not, then Firekpd has the truth of it, you won't be able to mix the 2.

This how I did mine as well, but skipped the connection with the headset bulb holder an ran it direct to one side of the rear switch.

If you are running a DC feed to the headset??, Then your best bet would be to use this new feed wire as AC direct to the headset. Then use the original MB loom brown for the DC side as this feeds everything, you are asking for, on the way to the headset ie. brake light and horn.
