Hi all,
I went out on my PX 180 EFL today and managed to puncture the rear tyre. I changed it and then drove for about 2 miles and the same thing happened again. With no obvious puncture marks on the tread of the tyre, I have pulled out the inner tube and it has a large hole on the middle of the inside (engine side) wall of the tube. I have checked for any obvious contact with the main engine block but cannot see where it would foul on the tyre. it sits pretty close to the rear suspension and the clutch housing. Also, I'm running a revolver exhaust with it but once again I cannot see where there is or has been contact.

Any thoughts or advice as to what caused the two punctures and how I can resolve it would be appreciated.

You might have something in the tyre ; when assembling you should run your hand around inside the tyre to check for objects even if new .
Mate of mine recently had this from a washer he'd dropped in the tyre, a washer shaped puncture.
Another mate had 3 punctures within a week, turned out to be a faulty batch of tubes ,they were either kenda or mich airstop i think .
They all let go in roughly the same place ,a split up the side.
I find those schwalbe tubes from MB pretty good and the cheap indian mypol ones from AF are tough.

Hi all, checked the other wheel today and the hole was in exactly the same position as the first tube (half way up the inner wall). The only possibe obstruction I can see was the rear brake cable. Would this potentially burst both tyres?

No. Unless it was actually rubbing the tyre and that hard it got that hot ,which is unlikely to say the least, see above post again..
