Hi all, i want to fit a DC horn on my scoot so i have a decent audible horn. I'm running an 12v AC system but have a small 12v battery and a regulator that has a DC feed from it to charge the battery. Could someone please post a simple diagram as to how it should be wired? I was PM'd a diagram but i've accidently delected it I'm not too good with electrics and any help would be great. Thanks in advance Pete.

Just take a wire from the battery positive terminal and connect to the horn switch. Connect the other horn switch terminal to the horn.
Then connect the other horn terminal to the battery negative terminal.
Or -
Take a wire from the battery positive terminal and connect to the horn . Connect the other horn terminal to the horn switch terminal. Then connect the other horn switch terminal to earth on the chassis. Then connect the battery negative terminal to earth on the chassis.

in other words, make a loop from battery +, thru switch, thru horn, then back to battery -.

I have a dc horn on my ac system, positive from the battery to the horn, and wire from the the horn switch to the horn, works for me

There is only one wire into the horn switch as the horn works by connecting the horn to earth to complete the circuit. As John Ashford says, cone t batt positive to one side of the horn. The other side of the horn will already be connected to the horn switch.

Thanks mate, you sent me this a while ago, but I deleted it by mistake ! On my horn, theres a white wire, which goes to the horn switch and 2 others that are joined together. Do I simply add the live from the battery to those? It's an MB 'simplified' loom. Sorry for all the daft questions, but as I've said, I'm next to useless with electrics. Replace the joined wire with the one from the battery and tape the joined one so it doesn't short.

The joined one is carrying AC to your horn and the headset ( probably brown?).
