Hi all,

I have a Vespa PK 125 S (non battery) model. I want a digital speedo for it, however they seem to run
off of 12v batteries. Any idea how i could add a battery to my scoot to allow for modifications like a speedo etc

Thanks :bird:

If you are capable of following a wiring diagram and running wires thru the frame it should be relatively easy to do.The battery needs to be located somewhere ,either in the toolbox or the internal wall in the left sidedoor. If you swap the ignition switch inside the horn cover to an electric start one this will give you on/off power to the digi speedo, then change the regulator to a 5 pin battery one. This diagram will help to wire it all up. http://greyhoundscooterclub.proboards.c ... &thread=10

Hi

Thank you for your response regarding my Vespa PK.

we understand the wiring diagram but, a little off track as to the other componants such as the cut out relay, would this have to be used for the purpose i need it for ? Also we can fit a battery but have read anything going into it over 2amps can cause problems, If the speedo was hooked up to the battery using the ignition switch how would the speedo turn itself off as there would have been a direct feed from the battery terminal ?

You only need to follow the wiring for the reg and battery, the cut out relay relates to the electric start. If your speedo needs a continuous feed to retain it's memory settings then give it a feed from the battery with a spur off to the new ignition switch to power it up.
