Try as I might I can't get he horncasting to fit snugly against the legshield. There's a 3-4mm gap at each side at the top.
The horn casting screw boss touches the legshield but then there is the gap below that until further down where the horncasting then again touches the legshield. The gasket doesn't stay in place, it is easy to push it inside the horncasting.
What I have noticed is that back of the horncasting where the badge presses in touches the legshield mounting bracket and prevents the horncasting fitting close to the legshield. Also the badge holder is bolted onto the horncasting from the rear with countersunk screws, and cap head screws bolt into the legshield bracket separately.
Should the badge holder and horncasting be bolted to the legshield bracket from the front?
I get my kicks out on the floor.

It sounds like the legshields have been bolted to the badge bracket incorrectly. They can be fitted on top or underneath the bracket. One is the correct way, a grown up will be along soon to say which one.

Same on all slim styles, the threaded leggy bracket goes behind the frame bracket and attached with 2 6mm Allen bolts.

Thanks, checked that and the legshield bracket is below the stem bracket.
