Gents,
I managed to find a n.o.s. 2 stroke rev counter from a company in America. There are 2 wiring diagrams with it, and just 3 wires. I have wired my stator for the 12v d.c. conversion, so unsure what goes where ~
Red wire goes to positive on battery.
Black wire goes to 1side of the magneto, and the negative on the battery.
Green wire goes to the other side of the magneto.
So forgive my ignorance, but where do the black & green wires connect to? ???
Rev Counter wiring.

sounds odd ..usually back and red go to positive and negative on the battery and the green takes a feed from the either the low tention side of coil/cdi or in some cases a wire wrapped round ht lead

The other diagram is for points set up with the red wire going to light switch, black wire to earth, and the green goes to the h.t. Coil.
Strange! !

Id wire it this way, to me it makes perfect sense. However I am a bit of a nutty proffesor and things have been know to go bang during my experiments

Stay tuned..............

Heres your wiring diagram mark:

wire it as above. Im not sure which wire on the switch though pal. You could also take a pulse feed off the ignition but again Im not sure of the exact wire.

I just had a quick look at a lammy wiring diagram and Im hoping that they are quite universal and only slight changes per model but from what Ive just seen you should be able to wire it up from your headlight unit.
Black wire to earth
Green wire to Green wire (Ignition cut out)
Red wire to Brown wire (Main lights supply)
If the brown doesnt work and the tacho light is on all of the time then there should be another return wire from your light switch. Take it from there instead
Like I said though "Dont Trust Me" as most of my experiments blow up. Check it all out with a multimeter first pal
