tubless tire repair - green slime, plug???

Hey,
lots of renovations on our street. No surprise I picked up a nail in my nearly new rear SIP tubeless rim tire. Good news was it took a day to deflate, so I got home fine. I tried green slime for the first time. Pretty amazing how it worked. Tire holding air and I put 8 oz in. Wondering how long this repair is good for. I see there are repair kits where you use a rasp on the hole and then thread some material in to act as a plug. But the packaging says thats only a temporary repair, that you need to put a patch on the inside as well.

So wondering what is next. Just leave the green slime. Add a plug. Try and get half the tire rim off so I can put a patch on the inside? I was under the impression its very hard to get a tire like this off, you basically have to cut them off.

Experience and advice most welcome.

Tx in advance
