GP200 setup

I have a GP200 currently with a 30mm Dellorto & an NK exhaust.
Recently had a rebore & was running in, when one of the legs of the sliding dog shattered & now i need to get some welding done on my crankcase.
I currently have an SX200 gearbox, which a lot of people re telling me is not a good match for my setup.
So what should i do?
Should i change the gearbox/carb/exhaust, or all 3?
I am going to change the carb anyway as it is an old solid mount from the 80's, but 28 or 30?
What i am after is a reliable touring setup, not just speed!
