px 125 clutch probs

Got my mates 125 in bits, problem is the clutch doesnt seem to be working at all. pull the lever and nothing. the clutch arm seems to travel a hell of a way before I can feel any contact. I opened it up and apart from slightly dryish corks every thing looks ok. The clutch is the newer 4 plate type. the geared washer/ spacer is there. Its as if the clutch is sitting too far away from the brass plunger. The brass plonger is in good condition too. I am going to extend the slots in the clutch housing, but thought I'd check here first. Any help much appreciated. :freak:

Check that the clutch centre boss part that touches the shim/little gear on the crank isn't flush , if it is ,sip do a spacer washer or you can make one yourself or sand the clutch gear down a fraction. The boss needs to be about 0.5mm proud or you won't get correct clutch separation.
