Coming home from Brighton yesterday when the scoot started misfiring and then died. It would fire when kicked over but just just for a couple of seconds before dying. Once or twice it ran for a while longer but not properly and was very smokey.
I changed the CDI and that didn't make any difference.
Is it likely to be a stator problem or something else?
I had a while to contemplate the fault since I called the AA at 3:00 and they finally arrived at 7:45
Is this most likely a stator problem?

Just swapped the stator with the one from my other scoot. Started second kick and ticked over smoothly. I guess that'll be the problem then.coaster wrote:If you are sure it's not a fuel flow problem then it is possible that the symptoms described could be a broken wire on the stator, have you checked the readings?
I could faff about changing coils I suppose but I think I'll just take a deep breath and buy one from Justlambretta.
