DC Conversion of a BGM stator

Anyone converted a BGM Stator for DC with a Wassel regulator? I have a DC setup at the moment and it looks like I need a new stator. I might as well get a good quality one (assuming that they are as good as they're cracked up to be) but I'll need to rewire it.

Presumably the process is exactly the same as normal. I.e. disconnect the earth and run another yellow wire to the regulator
