Fancy a high speed tourer and have acquired a 200cc engine fitted with either a mollosi or a polini, can I have a bigger crank fitted 61,62,63 or 64mm
Can these barrels be ported more or are they as good as it gets from the manufacture
Sito+ exhaust is my choice
Standard vespa carb to be used

Now who are the top vespa men, what sort of power can I expect
20hp ??????
I realise I might have to seriously upgrade the internals

Thanks
M

How fast do you want to go, with a standard carb and box pipe?

sito plus exhaust and a standard carb... expect 15HP from either kit. it"ll be nice to ride, but dont expect the world. last malossi 220 i had was ..60 stroke cut crank, Malossi kit, MMW cylinder head, ported cases, 30mm dellorto, malossi manifold, righthand JL exhaust, lightened standard flywheel,200 quid mega clutch welded/banded with 16 springs and 5 plates! stainless this, uprated that, small fortune in it. went great, our lass loved it ...sold the f@@ker! most people who want fast P-ranges s**t themselves when it gets over 70mph , its not nice! bragging rights..yeah...real world...ring piece is nipping in. and thats the truth of it man.

yeah it was from SIP...like a COSA clutch but with 16 posts for springs instead of 8. ran it with 8 grade A and 8 grade B springs, and a 5 plate kit from beedspeed. after getting all the bits together, it was an expensive bit of kit. wouldnt do it again like, i"d just use an old style P2 clutch with DR springs, like the one i"m running now. the scoot is actually coming back for a D/Side oilseal repair, so i"ll see how its held up. i must have been flush at the time

For tuning work and big cranks then Al (Diablo) or Harry Barlow.
I have an engine with Al now having something similar done, I hope :D
TS1 and PX stay in the garage (future barn finds) out on the GTS 300 when I go out on a scooter.
I know I’ll get there and back
