i converted my series 1 to have a brake light using an original 3 bulb rubber mounted set up but noticed its melting the bottom of my lense where the clear section meets the red. Does anyone male led conversions for this type of rear light?

HID light sellers usually have sm led "bulbs" with conventional fittings, if that's what you mean.

Yeah, I bought a pair of these too and have spent most of yesterday doing it, one set for brakes the other set for running, all wired up just like the old bulb but they both come on on brakes and the wires so thin as to be ridiculous to work with :-(

Think I might just have to invest in a proper one from MB

Put mine around oringal bulb 1 for brake and 1 for running, it means if the led or the bulb fails I will still have lights.

AHA, I seem to have had a eureka moment after yesterdays alzheimers moment!

I seem to have sussed it, stupid Donnie had it in his head that 3 wires (1 pink, 2 black) was 1 power 2 earth, doh!!

Course there's only one common earth as pinks power from the brake switch and the other blacks the running light, silly sod I am.

Now, where'd I put all them bleeding zip ties.??
Donnie.
