strange noise??

hi guys after getting back from a half hour or so blat on scoot today when i got back and put it in neutral a rattle/ chattering noise is audible but dissapears when clutch lever is pulled in?? anyone shed any light on it please ???

Kick shaft rubbing clutch top plate and/or crown wheel?
Fire her up ant let tic-over. Pull the kick lever(shaft-end) and shaft out and see if the noise goes.
Are your kick shaft external circlip and shim still there?

kicked her over this morning and noise has gone?? put in and out of gear a few times but nothing?? will have to take her out again! did a general nut n bolt check too and found a snapped tank strap
clean snap on stainless strap and only 12 months old!! obvoiusly quality indian stainless eh
will have to dig out the original ones that had been on scoot for 44 years!!!
