I have a vespa px disc which keeps cutting out after i have been riding for about 15 mins, ileave it for a couple of mins and then it will start again. It has a new stater plate , new cdi unit. But i have noticed a groove on the fly wheel , could this be the problem? any help or advice be helpful.

I could be a blocked tank breather, try running it without the fuel cap and see if it makes any diference.

If not something daft and easy like tank breather blocked it sounds like something electrical breaking down as it gets to a certain temperature, LT coil or pick up on stator or cdi. Yes, even if new, best thing to do is only use genuine piaggio vespa parts ,even they're not always great and some parts like LT coils can be made in their Taiwan plant but better than some of the stuff around cobbled together in asia .

I'd go back step by step changing things to eliminate the fault, starting simply with plug, lead and then a borrowed, known working, blue ducati CDI as per original equipment, and then stator , or if you're a bit handy , solder a new vespa LT coil on to yours . Last time i bought one i think i got it from buzzsolomoto on his ebay but can't see any on there today with a quick browse.
