Hi all, can anyone tell me if the thinner doored mk1 toolbox will fit on an older 1984 frame. Just fitted one and it seems a touch small. Cheers wink.

It will fit but will need a bit of fettling. the cut out which fits in to the steering column bit is different but will fit.
I think you will also need to drill 2 holes in the frame.
I've just fitted a mk1 toolbox to a T5 classic, it only took about half an hour. great fun with the grinder though lol

Cheers Mark1, have you any idea how much I've got to trim off and is it from both the top and bottom?
Cheers Chris

The bottom should fit ok. you dont have to take much off. Prob about 5mm.
Put some masing tape around the steering colum / ignition lock but on the frame to protect the paint and place the tool box on to see where and how much you need to remove. Its just a case of file a bit, try, file a bit more until your happy with the fit.
