GS160 MK1 paint issue

Hi everyone,

I just purchased my second vespa an all original MK1, it has the original paint underneath the grey.

has anyone got any idea how to carefully remove the grey without damaging the white?

I was thinking of using cellulose thinner, which hopefully leaves the original paint alone (is it enamel paint?)

Cellose thinners will work but the original paint will also be celly. If you tackle a small area at a time using a cloth pad dipped in thinner and taking it slowly, you should be ok. I've not tried it myself but Graffiti Remover is also said to work and is a bit more sympathetic to underlying paint. Once you can see the original paint grinning through it would be best to change to something like G3 cutting compound to finish off the remainder.
