Hi all .....just bought a glove box for my gp just wondered if anyone has fitted one? Does anyone know how it fits to the legshield it looks to me that you fit brackets to legsheids then bolt the glove box to them.....The thing that confused me was i only go 2 brackets with box should i have 4??

Post a picture up as they do vary..mine on my GP fastens to the section of legshields that covers the tube if that makes sense..btw of rev nuts, you will also have to scribe it to the shape of your leggys.. Not a great chore tbh..

Place masking tape on the inside of the leggys were you want to fit..( saves damaging paintwork )
You will have to take bits off at time until it fits snug..warning..it does take time so patience is a must

Do one side at a time..

Is the glovebox new or second hand.?

Thanks for the speedy reply mate havnt had it near the scoot yet its sitting in the hall in its box..yes it is brand new chromed joby..bought that much lambretta stuff lately cant just remember who from.....so you recommend getting box flush and pin through leg shield?....cheers mate

They do vary it seems from a bracketing point of view, Mine has just 2 down the centre (its fibreglass btw), once I had cut to suit I used quick clamps to hold it in place then I marked with chalk pen through the bracket holes, centre punched, drilled then fitted riv nuts (threaded sleeves), really makes it easy if I need to remove it, it only takes seconds..

I just did a PX style one on my GP.

You might have four brackets on the toolbox and two loose ones.

If its like that then you offer it up and mark where the brackets line up to.

For the lower ones you drill a couple of holes straight through which should attach with bolts behind the mudguard.

In the case of mine I for the top I had two L shaped brackets I had to rivet to the legshield on either side of the tubes. A screw slotted into the bracket and through the upper box bracket held on with a nut.

They sometimes need a bit of pushing and pulling to get on so fit the rubber and tape it firmly in place with masking tape so it stays put while your skinning your knuckles....

I taped tool box to legshields marked were holes needed to be and then cut the heads of four bolts and weld the threaded bit inside legshields. The top two weld marks should be hidden behind horncase and bottom ones behind mudguard.

Here's a pic of it in place, as I said the fit ain't perfect but but fine for my purposes right now.



Will tweak it better if I get round to getting the paint done, maybe next year...
