Main seal on my mates t5 won't stay in place you can put the seal in place an it just pops out now I've been told that the main seal can be glued in which stuff should I use that will be strong enough to hold the seal and be able to with stand heat and petrol and we're can I get such stuff thanks in advance Darren

U can use thread lock or something similar to glue it in place.

Bearing Traders is probably the best local place to get it. Google them as they have depots nation wide.

you using a metal backed seal?

Yes an all metal seal not the rubber coated one

locktite 714 is the one i use, but other thread and bearing fit liquids will be just as good. you can also dot punch the edge of the metal seal into the casing, to stop it turning. i use a knackered polini T5 152 piston to knock them into place, its the ideal diameter. if its just falling out, i would be looking at the casings , and if they are worn out in that area. i always use metal backed seals, even on standard 125"s.

At the mo I have it held in with a little chemical metal to see if it holds but if not I will try the loctite stuff cheers yeah I use an old t5 piston to fit my seals thanks for the help

if this fails you could have the bearing area 'bushed' by an engineer. Sounds drastic but will save the casings.

i would use a blue fully rubber coated corteco seal - bit a bearing fit and dot punch it
