Another near death Lambretta experience !!!

Perhaps a bit of an exaggeration but none the less.
I thought the rear handling felt a bit odd on the way home from the Big 7 rally only to find this:
The spring has snapped on the rear shock.
Any point replacing the spring or is there now a better recommending rear shock available?
Cheers.

From a cost effectiveness point of view replacing the spring will be far cheaper than buying a new shocker...
Which spring was you using 180lb or 220lb, their is 2 guys who frequent the forum who will be able to both to sort this for you, Chiggy and Shocky, just do a search..

Has the spring been shortened?

You can get the springs (or could, anyway) from Demon Tweaks for next to nothing.
The 180lb ones you can put in by hand. 220 might need a few bits of string to hold it together while you fit the top bit.

No the sprinig hadn't been shortened, well it is now as a couple of inches broke off.
If I didn't want to replace the spring and instead get a new damper (not sure if I trust the R1 any more) what would people recommend?
Cheers.
