Panel popped off on the M3 this morning.

Could anyone half handy with a can of spray paint repair this? I know the procedure & what's needed for a decent enough job, its no show winner just tidy enough..... or is it a job for the pro's, and how much would it cost to get a paint shop to do it?

cheers

The problem you will have is matching the colors if you don't already have some paint of your own.

I reckon about £150 for a pro job

Got the colour, its mini, chilli red. So it should be easy enough then? Splash of nitromors, a wire brush, some appropriate wet & dry, a cloth, thinnners, primer etc & I'm away....

Yeah?

Don't paint strip the panel you'll f*ck it up,just feather back the scratches and re-paint it :D

Have you got the standard spring, when my panels are on I tighten up a hose clip over the end to stop this happening and also to stop someone quickly nicking the panels.

Yess I'd feater to repair back but the spray the repair area with spray filler/putty and allow to dry for 24 hours. Flat the whole panel feathering the spray filler, spime as required and flat off then spray over with spray can for the top coats. I would go to a paint factor with the paint code and get a can made up in either celly or 2 pack depending on what's already on there.
