SIP nuts

Hello,

Has anyones SIP tubless rim nuts gone rusty.

I had the Rims on the scooter for approx 3 months when this started happening and got progressively worse:






My scooter is kept inside in a nice warm garage.

The reason I am asking this is because SIP say noone else has experienced this issue, but they are willing to provide me with a new set of nuts "for a good price".

I was expecting to get a new set and just pay the shipping, SIP normally have a very good customer policy and replace faulty items.

So i was wondering if it really is just mine?

loadsa lads got them round hear, ive put about 10 pairs now on peoples scoots, both lammy and vespa, first time ive seen this.

There are a few others on the other well known forum that this has happened to as well.

Perhaps I should be out with a rag drying them every time I rode the bloody scooter, then again that's the reason I don't have lights, mirrors and chrome cos I can't be arsed with all the polishing :anbrgin;

So do you think this is a normal occurence or should they be replaced under some sort of warranty?

Should I be paying for new ones?

They are metal you know and if it they get chipped or you dont clean them they will go rusty, like any other metal!

The thing is you dont really want wheel nuts degrading so quickly, im going to pick a sip tyre up shortly from a local dealer who is stocking a lot of sip gear I shall ask him regarding this.

Just got back..and had a good chat with him about them, yes he has seen this a bit..BUT..for some odd reason only on black rims and none have done this on polished rims very odd indeed, anyway just got a performer off him and will have it on before tomorrows ride to scunny..on a positive he also added that he has no comebacks what so ever regarding the rims themselves and is selling a hell of a lot of them, They are on my xmas list (polished ones though)

I can agree with the above post I've got siver wheels with chrome nuts & there fine my mates got black rims & I've noticed they've started to go rusty & his are newer than mine.....

I think getting some of the chromed nuts looks like the way to go.

Trouble is I can't find anyone who can supply them either!

Anyone know any suppliers? Sip are out of stock, funnily enough!
