TM24 on a mugello 186 tap lever clearance issue

I bought a mikuni tm24 kit for above on an early li3 ,came with a manifold, cables, k&n style filter etc . After fettling and fitting the manifold (malossi, not phbl 25 type) and pushing the carb on ,the carb fouls the tap lever quite badly , and the lever does not want to go further toward the frame..anyone else had this issue or got any tips, as far as i can see at the moment the only option would be to try to run it in front of the carb between it and the k&n type filter

ive just used a little tip ive pinched from a mate that has done this little modification and in my application it seems to work well, ive got a solid mount 30 dellorto,i had to shorten the manifold to run a remote filter behind the panel
basically i purchased a 1/4 flexidrive ovbviously for a 1/4 drive wrench, the male end you need to grind or mill down so it mates to your tap and drill a litlle hole in it for a split pin,
the drive is fed behind the carb and your fuel tap rod will need to be cut to enter the female side of the flexidrive and ive put a tiny 3mm bolt through it with a nut on the other end.seems to do the trick on my application
the flexi drive are about 6inch long and should be around a tenner
mite be worth a look

I've got a couple of TM24 / Mugello 186 engines but both use PHBL manifolds with no fitting issues at all

One breaths through the airbox, the other through a remote filter rotated 90 degrees to avoid spit back flooding.
Sorry that's not much help to you with your manifold, but it may help someone else in the future?

Couple of things worth thinking about there then, interesting tap mod , or maybe i'll just get a phbl manifold sounds quite sensible .

Hope this helps

oh yeah my fuel tap rod was 6mm
Now in my shed here you go

I did this when I was running a Suzuki 190 with a TM24

Thanks for that ,looks ideal ,although looking at the height of your tap arm the one on mine seems to be sitting too low as well, it even struggles to clear where the engine mount housing slopes up towards the inside .
Imagine the price of those couplings if they were sold for Lambrettas
I panic-bought a phbl manifold earlier anyway ,i fancied the option of both airbox or remote filter

Neat solution, stashing that for future reference.
