EGT probe location

Hi, I'm setting up my TS1 225 motor. Running a JL3 pipe (older) and am looking to set up my Westach egt probe. It's the type that is held in with a hose clamp. I'm wondering if anyone else has done one of these before? It needs to be 6 inches down the u bend, but a JL doesn't really have a U-bend! Any help or advice is appreciated.

Most probes are fitted 4" (100mm) measured from the piston skirt mine is just before the first bend
