i am drybuilding an italian gp
(i believe the legshields may be indian but not sure.....the horncast is indian for sure)
bridge piece sticks up 5mm over floorpan
horncast is smaller diameter at top to the italian headset bottom but looks ok from behind - the horncast needed pushing out about 5mm so the screws lined up with leggies
any advice as to whats wrong
cheers
mick

Could the bridge piece be off an earlier model? I know there are two variations in S3 bridge pieces to my knowledge. One is tall and thin while the other is shorter and wider. You should be able to tell if your leg shields are Indian if they have an extra hole to retain the beading where the sharks teeth ought to be. Not sure what the answer is to the horn cast problem though. I had a similar problem in reverse with Italian horn cast and Indian leg shields. I only solved it by sourcing some proper Italian leg shields.

If the horn cast holes don't line up with the holes in the leggies you can put a ratchet strap around the leggis and gently tighten (undo the front frame to leggy bolts first). If the holes need to go the other way try gripping the leggies either side from the front and pulling forwards. This worked on my Li and is probably why the holes on the legshield bracket are slotted.

I'm suprised you haven't had a response to this, I don't have any experience with GP's but I have a feeling the Indian and Italian headsets are different, maybe the horncasts are a different size too and along with the bridge piece?

hello coaster - the supposedly italian horncast was the same but it might have been indian.......
without having a definite italian part to hand to measure as a reference, its difficult to tell
