125/200 flywheels..

don't tell anyone but I've just been on the Modern Vespa forum
a guy on there is saying that Px125 flywheels and PX 200 flywheels have keyways in different positions..
meaning a PX 125 flywheel would create different timing if put on a PX200 engine..
I said they are the same flywheel..am I right?
cheers

yep, they are same flywheel, timing is only adjusted by moving the stator plate

thanks mate....thats exactly what I replied..
why have a stator with 2 marks on it otherwise?
that Modern Vespa has a few people who keep putting up wrong information..
really annoys me..
and newcomers are going to ruin engines or get confused by these "experts"
cheers

Perhaps he might be thinking of the large taper p125ets (i think) pk flywheel that has two keyways and that some people use for tuning on px's as it's much lighter and smaller in diameter..i sold one recently that i picked up in a box of bits before i broke something with it

some px flywheels , the fins are different. 125 had straight fins, 200 had curved fins. ive swapped either round (in ignorance more than owt else) and never found any differance in cooling .
