Hi all, I have asked a question on someone else's thread concerning my imola engine. I'm currently running it on a 30mm Delly, Ducati light flywheel, JL 3 / Franspeed pipe, AF 47 tooth clutch, 16 tooth front sprocket with Italian LI150 box. This gives a final drive of 5.0. The bike goes really well in 1,2 and 3 but just dies in 4th. Someone has recomended I go 46 / 15 sprocket wise. The thing is at almost £500 I don't want to ditch the AF clutch, is there any other options to try and improve the top end and keep the clutch i already have? Thanks in advance Pete.

15 x 47 gives 5.33. Needs a streched 80 link chain or an 81 with a pull down tensioner. That's a theoretical 77 mph at 8,000 rpm though the JL3 might not get that high.

Avantone's gearbox visualiser is what you need to play with.

wise words from fecker Martin .. I ended up at 5.4 with my Imola after a whole raft of exhausts and carbs / inlets / reedblocks etc. Personally the kit really came alive when paired with a 30mm carb and a revvy exhaust ... behaved just like a TS1 200 then.

Hi, I've got a 90/90 tyre on the rear. So I'm I right in thinking that a JL race may suit the Imola better than the JL3? I think I'll try a 15 front sproket pull down tentioner and 81 link chain before I change the pipe. Thanks very much guys really appreciate you're comments and advice. Pete.

The curly pipe gives all the power at the bottom to the extent I will be trying 16/46 and if I find it still being held back I'll then try 17/46, as it stands it runs out of gear before revs.
